The State of Florida, on March 1, 2007, passed several laws requiring Florida Insurance companies to give Premium Discounts to homeowners that have taken extra structural measures to protect their properties against Florida's unpredictable weather and storms.
The new federal tax credit has been created and approved as an incentive for homeowners to improve their homes energy rating. The ruling involves a credit up to $1500.00 for the price of materials installed that are energy star rated. Any energy rated windows that are purchased within the 2009 tax year will result in this credit being applied directly to the homeowners. It credits 30% of the energy upgrade material cost up to $1500.00.
